This limited edition, archival signed print of an original acrylic painting, titled "Baron Schuhschnabel", portrays a shoebill stork.
The shoebill stork is native to freshwater swamps and marshes across Central and Eastern Africa. They are considered a vulnerable species because of the threats of habitat loss, climate change, drought, farming and industry. They are hunted for their meat and chicks are stolen for the illegal pet trade. At most, there are less than 8,000 individuals left.
"Schuhschnabel" is German for shoebill.
