It is very important to me that you are delighted with your order. If you are unsatisfied and wish to return product please contact me.
Returns may be accepted within 7 days of receipt in the original, unused, undamaged condition. Additionally, I ask that the buyer contact me with the intent to return within 4 days of receipt of item. Refund can be given as credit for further purchases or as money back when the undamaged item is received.
Shipping costs are not refundable for purchases.
Bright paisley-inspired forms and sun-warmed gold, orange, and red swirl together in Whimsy and Cheer, a scarf that lives up to its name.
After the design was first drawn on with gutta, the silk was brushed with a wash of pink and magenta dye. Once the colors were set, the crepe de chine silk was washed, stretched again, and overdyed with a second transparent wash of yellow and apricot.
The layered process creates a pattern of golden lines framing abstract, paisley-style blossoms against a bright, cheerful ground. The interplay of warm hues and overlapping shapes gives this one-of-a-kind piece a luminous, joyful energy that feels like captured sunshine.
Once complete, each scarf is wrapped separately in cotton and steamed to set the dyes permanently to the fibers. Julie has chosen to use steam to set the dyes and water soluble resist for serti techniques to avoid the use of chemicals for all of her silk art.
